How It Works
Our PDF Merger is designed to be as simple and secure as possible. Here is a detailed breakdown of the workflow when you use our tool.
1. Selecting Your Files
When you drag and drop files or click the "Browse Files" button, your web browser selects the PDF documents from your local storage. At this stage, your files are simply loaded into your browser's temporary memory—they are not uploaded to the internet or sent to our servers.
2. Organizing the Document
The interface displays your selected files in a list. You can visually confirm the file names and sizes. Using the provided up and down arrows, you can easily rearrange the order of the documents. The top file in the list will become the first pages of your new merged PDF.
3. Client-Side Processing
When you click "Merge PDFs", the magic happens entirely within your device's browser using modern JavaScript technologies. A highly optimized PDF library reads the binary data of each file, copies the pages exactly as they are formatted, and appends them sequentially into a brand new PDF document structure.
Because there is no network transfer involved in the actual merging, this process is incredibly fast and completely secure. Your sensitive data never leaves your computer.
4. Downloading the Result
Once the browser has finished constructing the new merged PDF, it generates a secure temporary local link (a Blob URL) and automatically triggers a download. You receive your new file instantly, and you can simply hit "Merge Another Set" to clear the browser's memory and start over.
